This Data Deletion Policy explains how users can request deletion of their account and personal data from the Sattvavana mobile application. It complies with Google Play Store and Apple App Store data deletion requirements.
2. In-App Data Management (Self-Service)
Users can manage certain data directly within the Sattvavana app without contacting support:

- Delivery Addresses: Add, edit, or delete saved addresses anytime
- Phone Number: Update your contact number in account settings
- Preferences: Update delivery preferences and communication settings
- Payment Methods: Remove saved payment information
Steps to Manage Your Data In-App:
- Open the Sattvavana mobile app
- Go to Account or Profile section
- Select Settings or Account Settings
- Choose what you want to edit or delete (addresses, phone, email, etc.)
- Make changes and save
3. Account & Full Data Deletion (Manual Request)
To delete your entire account and associated personal data, you must contact Sattvavana directly. Account deletion cannot be reversed.

- Account information (name, email, phone number)
- All saved delivery addresses
- Saved payment methods
- Account preferences and settings
- User profile and login credentials
β οΈ What Gets Retained After Account Deletion:
- Order History: Retained for 3 years for accounting, tax, and legal compliance purposes
- Payment Records: Retained for 7 years as required by Indian law
- Transaction Logs: Retained for fraud prevention and security audits
Reason: Order history and payment records are kept for legal, accounting, and consumer protection requirements under Indian law. These records are anonymized and cannot be linked to the deleted account after deletion.
4. How to Request Account Deletion
To delete your account and all personal data (except order history as noted above), contact Sattvavana using one of the methods below:

5. Verification & Processing
When you request account deletion, we will:
- Verify Your Identity: Confirm your email and phone number match our records
- Confirm Request: Send a confirmation message asking you to confirm the deletion request
- Process Deletion: Delete your account and personal data within 30 days
- Send Confirmation: Notify you via email once deletion is complete
Processing Timeline:

- Verification: 1-2 business days
- Deletion Processing: Within 30 days of confirmed request
- Confirmation Email: Sent after deletion is complete
6. Legal Requirements & Data Retention
While we delete most personal data upon request, some information is retained due to legal requirements:
Legal Retention Requirements:
- Order History & Invoices: Retained for 3 years per consumer protection and GST laws
- Payment Records: Retained for 7 years per Indian income tax and financial regulations
- Transaction Logs: Retained for fraud prevention and security investigations
Anonymization After Deletion:
Retained order and payment records are anonymizedβyour name, phone number, email, and address are removed and cannot be linked to your deleted account.
Governing Laws: This policy complies with Indian Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA) 2023, Consumer Protection Act 2019, and app store policies of Google Play and Apple App Store.
7. What Happens After Account Deletion
After your account is deleted:
- You will no longer be able to log in to the Sattvavana app
- You can download the app again and create a new account with the same or different email
- Your old account data (except legal records) will not be recoverable
- You will stop receiving order updates, notifications, and promotional messages
- Any pending refunds will be processed before account deletion
Important: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Please make sure you have downloaded any necessary order information before requesting deletion.
